Spring Road Trips in Pennsylvania

With spring finally here, there’s nothing any of us want to do more than get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather. We’ve put together this list of ideas to get you out of the house and exploring a bunch of fun things the state of Pennsylvania has to offer. 
 
  • Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival – May 19th
    You can check out all the delicious food, fashion, arts and entertainment the neighborhood has to offer at the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival. More than 50,000 people attend this festival every year!

  • Game Masters at the Franklin Institute – March 31st – September 3rd
    Love video games? Then checkout the Game Master at the Franklin Institute, an exhibit giving you an inside look into how your favorite games came to life – all the way from the arcade era through now!

  • Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia – April 7th – April 15th
    Plan a family outing under the cherry tree at the 2018 Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival. Wanting a little more? Then check out some of the ongoing events including the ikebana international demo, calligraphy and origami workshops and even the Prettiest Pet in Pink Contest.

  • Philadelphia Science Festival – April 20th – 28th
    It’s that time again, the Philadelphia Science Festival is back for another year with plenty to do for the whole family. From Science in The Park to a Citywide Star Party there is plenty to do during this weeklong celebration – with a FREE science Carnival finale!

  • South Street Spring Festival and Maifest – May 5th
    Don’t miss out on eight blocks of music, food, drink, shopping, arts and fun. Here’s an insider tip – stop by the 700 block of South Street during the festival to participate in the German Maifast, with plenty of food, drink, and activities hailing from the native country.

  • The Mattress Factory - On going
    Celebrating its 40th year, the Mattress Factory is one of Pittsburgh’s iconic museums – founded in 1977 it has become the premier contemporary art museum that boasts a focus on experimental and site-specific installations.

  • Pittsburgh Marathon – May 6th
    Support local runners as they run between 13.1 and 26.2 in the Marathon, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay and even a toddler trot during the Pittsburgh Marathon. Don’t miss out on some of the other festivities such as the health expo or the “Rock the Run” 26.2 mile tailgate party! 

  • Berks Jazz Fast – April 6th – 15th
    A Fan of Jazz? Then don’t miss Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest brought to you by the Berks Art Council. This year features both national and local acts including the U.S Navy Band Commodores and the Berks Highs School All-Star Jazz Band!

  • Peddlers Village Spring Fling – April 21st – 22nd
    Celebrate springtime at the annual Peddlers Village Spring Fling! There’s plenty to do for the whole family, from savoring the taste of local eateries to listening to live music. Don’t forget to check out the local Artisans Market too.

  • Beaver County Maple Syrup Festival – April 7th – 8th
    Love Breakfast? What about maple syrup? Then again…who doesn’t love maple syrup? Join the Beaver County Conservation District for their Maple Syrup Festival. Start the day with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast served with local maple syrup before checking out the dozes of entertainers, crafters, and some sweet activities at the festival.
